Course Description: | This graduate level course provides an examination of logistics, distribution, transportation, and warehousing as the backbone of supply chain management. Coursework is framed in an end-to-end view of the global supply chain management environment, and system objectives in terms of customer service and total cost issues. Emphasis is placed on logistics integration, distribution, transportation, and warehousing as they impact the overall supply chain system. A variety of techniques are employed, including case studies for the student to develop a high level of design and analysis capability regarding the impact of managerial decisions within each element on the overall system. |
