"Education is a community affair." In order to be successful, you need to participate with good intent. By enrolling in any course, we accept a commitment to our community of inquiry . Similarly, we expect the same from our community members.
Your ExpectationsYou should expect that your ideas are received with enthusiasm. You should expect to be challenged on your ideas through comments on your discussion posts and feedback from your facilitator. You should expect timely responses from your community to your ideas.
You should expect to have your assignments graded in a timely fashion so that you can benefit from, and incorporate feedback into your next task.
Your CommitmentsYou will commit to offering your perceptions of the content to your community, and always challenging their perceptions through the discussion boards.
You will commit to observing deadlines in order to allow everyone to receive timely feedback on their ideas and assignments.
Each assignment is evaluated using rubrics built from criteria derived from the program and course level objectives. The rubrics also draw upon a bank of common asignment criteria and task-specific criteria, as shown in Figure 1.
This rubric design will help you as a participant to track your own progress longitudinally through the courses by measuring your progress and develop using the common criteria from the program, course and common task levels.
